‘Twilight: Eclipse’ Will Have Action, Few Love Scenes

This means those waiting to see Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) or even Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and Bella get more personal will have to make do with fight scenes. Producers are looking to make “Eclipse” more accessible to male audiences as well, as opposed to “Twilight” which was the very definition of a chick flick, and this means cutting down on love scenes and putting more emphasis on fight sequences.

As fans must surely know by now, if there’s one thing that “Eclipse” doesn’t come short of, that’s fight scenes. “It’s more about the fight scenes. They’re awesome; it’s what it’s all about. No, it’s even more action than ‘New Moon,’ that’s where the tension is between them all,” the unnamed but reportedly very reliable source spills for Casablanca. For love scenes, fans will just have to wait until “Breaking Down,” which will undoubtedly be “hotter” and “more romantic” in terms of presentation of the love story between Edward and Bella, the spy goes on to say.

While this may surprise many, it’s no secret that Summit is making “Eclipse” into an action movie, as star Ashley Greene also revealed in an interview dating a few months back. The franchise needs to widen its appeal with the public and since the story allows for more action scenes to be inserted, why not go for it, Greene too was saying. Female fans will still watch the film no matter what, so it was worth a shot attracting male viewers with more fighting.

“I think it’ll be different. I think it’s going to be a battle between the studio and the director, and it’s going to be a hard balance, ‘cause I think he’s... a little more focused on it being real and maybe it being gorier and a little dark and kind of dramatic,” Greene also said in the same interview. “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” will be in theaters this summer.
