Taylor Lautner Calls 'Eclipse' The Most 'Guy-Friendly' 'Twilight' Film

Taylor Lautner is fast becoming a go-to young Hollywood actor for demanding action roles. He's about to start filming "Abduction," a Jason Bourne-style thriller, and has lined up two action-heavy flicks — "Stretch Armstrong" and "Cancun" — further down the line. Plus he signed up for, then parted ways with, "Max Steel," a superhero movie in which he would have played a kid imbued with the power of nanobots.

The 18-year-old, in short, digs action. It's no surprise, then, that when it comes to picking his favorite film in the "Twilight" series, he's going with the upcoming "Eclipse" — the one that ratchets up the action in a way Twilighters have not yet seen.

"It was my favorite book, so I was always looking forward to the day that I got to film it," Lautner told MTV News of "Eclipse," due in theaters June 30. "The final product turned out even better than I expected."

Credit goes to director David Slade, the man behind the horror flick "30 Days of Night" and someone with both a distinct visual style and a talent for capturing run-and-gun action sequences.

"It's my favorite, because it's the most guy-friendly by far," Lautner explained of "Eclipse." "It's dangerous. There's a lot of action. The romance is still there, but the action level is stepped up way more. It's great."

Less than great, however, is watching himself up on the big screen without a shirt on. Because "shirtless" is pretty much Lautner's default state during the film. Fans might love those scenes, but the actor says they're both uncomfortable to shoot and to watch.

"It is a little awkward for me to watch myself and, actually, when we're filming those scenes," he said.

Kristen Stewart: Twilight "Definitely" Connects to Real-Life Virgins; Does Robert Pattinson Agree?

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's Eclipse characters, Bella and Edward, essentially have three or so movies of virginal eternal longing for each other; they never quite go all the way (except in Breaking Dawn, which Melissa Rosenberg swears she's penning as quite sexy...but more on that later).

When we talked to the stars of Eclipse at last night's premiere at the L.A. Film Festival, we threw it out there to the cast: Do you think the longing and self-control the main characters exhibit when it comes to sex is something high schoolers can actually relate to these days? Here's what Rob, Kristen, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz had to say...

"Oh my god, definitely," Stewart told us on the carpet with the stern-yet-sweet look she exhibits so well. "I feel like everything in our movie—the reason people love it so much—is because it's everything that we experience. It's like put on this...I don't want to say ideological...It's just put on this level that it is fantasy love. You feel like when you're in love it's fake almost. I feel like that's how everyone feels."

Spoken like a girl who has been truly smitten before! Speaking of, Rob, in his über-cool, maroon Gucci suit, added that he has no clue if holding out for something great is in touch with teens today, but it's what he is used to.

"I hope so," Pattinson dished about whether Edward's self-control is relatable to guys his age.

"I don't know, I didn't really go to a normal high school," R.Pattz ‘fessed. He added, "I went to a very romantic high school."

So that's where he learned his suave tricks!

Ash and Kellan chimed in on the matter, too.

"I think that's the positive impact and positive message our film has: to teach girls there are guys that will wait for you, and there are guys that will respect you," the lovely Ms. Ashley said about how realistic the love story is. "And for guys, you know, that they don't have to settle for some girl that doesn't have it all. I think it's really nice that both Bella and Edward have found the complete package in each other and they are still willing to wait for each other."

"You know what, I think it's coming back," Kellan, unfortunately in a suit and not just his Calvin Klein's, told us about teens holding out.

"I have a sister who is here, Brittany Lutz, and it's really cool that she's reading these books, and her friends are reading these books. The world has gone kind of corrupt. I remember from my day, I had twin brothers in high school—all those drugs are around, what are kids doing these days, and other things, sexual experiences. In reading these books, my sisters really stay true to themselves and their feelings and don't just go off of lust, but love, and holding out. It's really cool."

Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, and Jackson Rathbone talk action.

As part of this weekend's press junket in Los Angeles, California, Access Hollywood got to speak with "Cullen family" actors Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, and Jackson Rathbone.

In the interview, the three revealed that the most difficult scenes to film in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse weren't the action-oriented ones but rather those scenes where they were in dialogue with several other cast members.

"In New Moon we got a little taste of the action . . . Eclipse was really fun to film because the whole time we had stunt training and personal training," said Ashley Greene.

"It's kind of like . . . in making an action film, it's probably some of the most fun. I mean, you spend weeks chereographing these elaborate fight sequences and finally you get to enact it . . . especially since you have all these amazing stunt ment and women who are just extremely talented . . . they make you look really cool," Jackson Rathbone added.

"We actually liked running around and being active . . . but whenever there's twelve of us in one scene, and you have to do it over and over again, it's actually exhausting," explained Ashley Greene.

The third Twilight film, Eclipse, is essentially centered on the love triangle of Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson's characters, in which Team Edward (R.Pattz) vs. Team Jacob (Lautner) is finally resolved.

While it makes for good entertainment on the big screen, the stars of the film say they could do without the drama that comes along with threesomes, thank you very much.

"I've never been in a love triangle," Lautner told reporters at his press conference for Eclipse. "I would not want to be in that situation. I wouldn't want to be in Bella's situation for sure. Or Jacobs. Or Edwards!"

Later on in the day Rob echoed similar sentiments when asked if he has ever competed for a woman with another guy the way Edward does with Jacob.

"I'm not good at doing it. I just kind of leave it alone," Rob said with that sly sexy smirk of his. "And also I guess, well I was about to say if you own the girl, but that doesn't make sense, if you are the one with the girl in the first place I guess maybe you're forced into fighting a little bit. But I would never be in Jacob's position, then you're just the guy that broke up the couple."

Stewart said even just filming the scene where Edward and Jacob are ready to duke it our over her was hard because—spoiler alert—Jacob and Bella end up totally making out in front of Edward.

"I was nervous as hell about it, just because of that moment and how different that kiss is to all of the rest of them in the movie," Stewart said almost a little flustered, adding "it's a mistake" for Bella to do that.

But don't think K.Stew's emotions in that particular scene were pulled from experience.

"It's hard to actually take details of your personal life and apply them to a scene," Kristen told us. "As much as you can identify with a feeling, you just get muddled as soon as you start bringing your own stuff in it…you can relate, but you kind of have to leave that stuff at the door."

Eclipse' Riley And Bree Video Clip.

A brand new clip from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has been revealed, and this time it's Riley and Bree that are featured.

You've already seen the moment when Bree (Jodelle Ferland) looks up to Riley (Xavier Samuel), clutching her throat and saying "What did you do to me?"

Until this clip, though, nothing of Riley's response has been seen . . . it's quite menacing, really.

Riley answers her concerns ("I'm so . . .") with a casual "Yeah, I know, we'll find you someone to drink."

While Xavier Samuel might not usually have such a deathly expression upon his face, in this clip he embodies the - to quote David Slade - carnivore and hunter of his vampire-ness, don't you think?

Also, if you've read the Bree Tanner novella, this clip might bring a bit of the genesis and foundation of Bree's feelings about Riley to light as well. Any other thoughts on the clip's relation to Bree Tanner and Eclipse?

Dakota Fanning Loves Being Evil In ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

Dakota Fanning – who portrays cruel vampire Jane in the blood-sucking Twilight – admits she liked being able to transport herself into a nasty character.

She told NY1 television, “She definitely takes pleasure in using her power which is inflicting pain on others, which is not a normal thing! So yeah it was cool to get to transform myself into more of an evil character which I haven’t done before.”

The teen star also confesses acting is the only career for her, but she will continue with her education while she works.

“I do want to go to college, I want to be able to act and go to college at the same time. But it is absolutely what I want to do with the rest of my life. I can’t imagine doing anything else. It’s what I love.

Discussing her dream collaborations, Dakota claims Jodie Foster is a big inspiration for her due to her career longevity.

“ I really admire because just because she’s started young and she’s continued and it’s just something I want to do. I want to constantly challenge myself. I hope by the end of my life I’ve been able to do all genres.

Edward And Jacob Face Off.

Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen squares off against Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black in Twilight Saga: Eclipse. This looks like a follow-up to a previously released photo featuring Pattinson, Lautner, and Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan. (Click on the photo to enlarge it.)

I’m not really sure which scene this is supposed to be. The Edward vs. Jacob confrontation set in the school parking lot, which was recently seen in a clip shown at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, is totally different in terms of ambiance, lighting, and clothing.

In the novels, of course, Jacob is much bigger than Edward. He’s 6′5" or something like that. Perhaps even taller by the time Breaking Dawn comes to a close. Obviously, that’s not the case in the movie adaptations. But I think that makes Jacob a more believable match for Bella — and thus more of a threat to Edward.

Robert Pattinson: Eclipse Is Different, More Serious.

Many "Twilight" fans are expecting a darker film with more action, but plenty of romance between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and her various supernatural suitors when "Eclipse" hits theaters on June 30. But "Twilight" enthusiasts who haven't braced themselves for a different experience should consider themselves warned: Leading man Robert Pattinson revealed to MTV News that the threequel absolutely takes a more serious tone.

"I've seen a very early cut," Pattinson said at the . "It's good. It's different. It's really different, like, it's kind of serious."

Pattinson clarified that in the case of "Eclipse," the words "different" and "serious" are good things, especially when it comes to the action sequences. "All the kinds of fight scenes that are in 'New Moon,' they're, like, real fights now [in 'Eclipse']," he said. "They're not, like, fantasy things. It's like a horror film!"

The horror label should come as no surprise considering that "30 Days of Night" director David Slade is responsible for "Eclipse." And not to mention the fact that Peter Facinelli previously revealed that fans will see the "true vampire-ness" of his Carlisle Cullen and the rest of his fanged family, including the "dark, dangerous side" of Alice (Ashley Greene), as well as "a darker side" of Jasper (Jackson Rathbone). Another big tipoff to the film's pitch can be found in the "Eclipse" footage we've already seen, like the action-packed teaser that premiered during the 2010 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.

Having earned a PG-13 rating for "intense sequences of action and violence," there's no question that "Eclipse" will differ from previous "Twilight Saga" installments. The only question is, do you trust Pattinson's declaration that "different" is a good thing?

30 things to look forward to with just 30 days until 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse'

It's hard to believe, but one of the summer's biggest movies is only 30 days away from opening. No, it's not "Inception," that's in July. And, no, it's not "Toy Story 3," that hits theaters in less than three weeks. Nope, it's the third installment of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and unlike a few other franchises this summer, this is one flick that won't underperform. It doesn't hurt there is a growing fanbase that is salivating at the prospect of watching the most action packed of Stephenie Meyer's novels hit the big screen (not to mention IMAX screen) and the fact the next "Twilight" film won't hit theaters until November 2011. And the closer it gets to opening, the more the media (HitFix included) will focus on the "Eclipse" that will occur over the July 4th weekend.

With that in mind, the collective staff at HitFix have come up with 30 things you can look forward to over the next 30 days leading up to the thriller's release. With a sly wink of course, because the best thing about "Twilight" fans is that they have a sense of humor about themselves (unlike some Muggles we know...).

Today’s Twilight Saga update comes in the form of a somewhat unusual photograph of Ashley Greene as her character Alice Cullen. David Slade, the British director of Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is the author of the photo, which he took during the pre-production process. Slade shared the image with fans via his TwitPic page. The black and white portrait is stunning. Dare I draw comparisons between Greene and her idol Audrey Hepburn?

Greene’s popularity has got her slowly branching out from Twilight into other projects. Her movie Warrior is in post-production and should come out this year. In it she shares the screen with her Twilight co-start Kellan Lutz. We also recently brought the news that Greene will join the cast of Scream 4.

Like the Harry Potter films, each Twilight Saga movie has been graced with a different director. Catherine Hardwicke was behind the camera for Twilight, Chris Weitz directed New Moon, David Slade is bringing us Eclipse, and Bill Condon is set to work on Breaking Dawn, which may or may not be split into two films.

The clock is ticking as the June 30 release date for Twilight Saga: Eclipse approaches. Until then, be sure to check out the latest television spot promoting the film. Robert Pattinson afraid of Taylor Lautner

Robert Pattinson has the edge over Taylor Lautner in the Twilight movies. Since Rob is the protagonist Edward Cullen and is ready to do anything to be with his lady Bella Swan he has to fight with the werewolves. Edward’s nemesis being Jacob Black played by Taylor both is ready to tear each other apart for Bella.

But will Rob be ready to take up the challenge and fight Taylor in real life. The answer is NO. Rob will only fight Taylor if he has “some kind of weapon” with him. Otherwise he is certain that Taylor would be able to kick Rob’s butt easily. The old myths of the Twilight world just enable the vampires to be stronger and be immortal, whereas werewolves are not. Hence with this edge Edward Cullen is always able to out do the likes of Jacob Black.

But in real life there is no body double neither does Rob has the immortality or the build of the Edward Cullen, so he prefers not to fight with Jacob aka Taylor. So is Rob afraid of Taylor, it seems so.

But whatever it is, Rob, Taylor and Kris makes an awesome threesome in the Twilight flicks. They have showed their chemistry with each other from the first Twilight film, not only on-screen but also off-screen. So if you are interested to catch up the fights between Edward and Jacob and have the pleasure of Rob overpowering Jacob, watch The Twilight Saga: Eclipse which will hit the theatres on June 30th.

Who is Xavier Samuel?

Twihards, now that you've gotten a good look at "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" trailer, you may have a few questions, like, "Who is Xavier Samuel and why haven't I seen him before he became a newborn vampire?"

The "Twilight" film series is filled with good-looking guys, and Samuel as Riley continues that trend. We did a little digging and found out more about Samuel, who's a 26-year-old actor from Adelaide, Australia. Yes, that's right. Another "Twilight" vampire who has an accent in real life.

For those who haven't read the books or quite gotten a handle on the plot of "Eclipse" yet, Riley is the right-hand vampire to Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) who has a beef with Bella (Kristen Stewart). Victoria creates an army of newborn vampires (we like to call them baby vamps) of which Riley is the leader. There's also a bit of romance between them.

According to an Elle interview, Samuel did his homework in order to sell the romance.

"Bryce and I watched YouTube clips of the best kisses in cinematic history for research," he told the magazine. Hmm, we wonder if he saw that "Twilight's" Bella and Edward landed on the Top 50 classic film kisses list?

Samuel has appeared in a number of Australian films and has received acclaim for them, especially "Newcastle" (he played a closeted Goth teenager/surfer) and the disturbing drama "The Loved Ones" in which he accidentally kills his dad in a car accident and then gets pulled into a sadistic game. For him, playing a vampire with issues was just the next logical step in his career.

The Actors: ‘Twilight’s’ Wolf Pack

The 1950s gave us the Rat Pack. The ‘80s, the Brat Pack. These days, the Wolf Pack is roaming the film scene.

Although the "Twilight" franchise may have helped spur the vampire craze with the Cullen brood, the saga's gang of shape-shifters is bringing sexy back to werewolves. And in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which hits theaters June 30, that's no different.

"The Cullens are very reserved," said Alex Meraz, who plays Wolf Pack member Paul. "They're vampires, but they're not out killing people. They're not what they're meant to be. Whereas the Wolf Pack, we're through and through animals. We're frisky. We're fun. There's something sexy about that."

In the third installment of the franchise, the band of brotherly (and sisterly, as we'll see) hirsute creatures joins forces with its rivals, the Cullens, after Seattle is plagued by a series of killings caused by an army of newborn vampires.

But since their computer-generated alter egos seem to be getting most of the screen time, here's a chance to get to know the actors pre-transformation:

Alex Meraz (Paul)

At 25, Meraz is still adjusting to the whirlwind that comes with being in a blockbuster franchise. But don't be fooled. He's not complaining.

"Bring it on," he said. "I was working really hard before, and it just didn't seem to pay off. I'm just really grateful for it all."

Before he caught the acting "virus," Meraz — who admitted his first viewing of "Twilight" was a bootleg version — demonstrated his artistic tendencies through dance, martial arts and painting. In fact, he still breaks out the paint and brushes to maintain his sanity through all the "Twilight" pandemonium.

But it's that pandemonium that gets him amped when talking about the movie.

"The fans are going to love this film," he said. "I didn't get my chance to touch anybody in ‘New Moon.' This time I go at it with Emmett [ Kellan Lutz]. I give him a nice bitch slap. But I'm in wolf form, so maybe it's a big paw slap?

"Oh, and there's a lot more action. It's more Paul wolf. You're going to see my wolf form doing a lot of stuff. You'll just see me running around shirtless once and a while."

So what of all those topless scenes?

"I have a newfound respect for women. I have to keep my figure. Girls are telling me to take my shirt off. It's like, ‘Hello! I'm a person, too!' "

Julia Jones (Leah Clearwater)

Bryce Dallas Howard isn't the only new face to join the burgeoning ensemble cast. Jones will make her debut to the franchise as Leah Clearwater, the scorned and bitter sole female member of the Wolf Pack.

"She's really a tough character," said Jones, 29. "She's pretty angry about a lot of things that she has every right to be angry about. She's miserable and lost and trying to cope internally without a lot of help. And she lashes out quite a bit."

Jones may not be a household name just yet, having appeared in independent films and a few episodes of "ER," but that will surely change for the Boston native come June. And for the woman who said she knew she wanted to be an actress after playing Michael Darling in a production of "Peter Pan" as a child, it'll be a learning process.

"I don't know," Jones said. "I'm just trying to take it easy while I can. It's going to be a new thing to figure out how to navigate this craze. I'm doing my best to prepare myself for all of it."

Chaske Spencer (Sam Uley)

Spencer reprises his role as werewolf Sam Uley, the sometimes disgruntled leader of the Wolf Pack.

Although Spencer hasn't exactly gotten used to the global attention — "It's cool, the recognition. But it's work. I know how to keep my life private" — he said he doesn't regret the decision to join the wildly popular franchise.

"There's a lot more offers," said Spencer, 35. "As an actor, that's all you can hope for: more chances to keep it going."

Spencer is in Arizona shooting his new film "Shouting Secrets," about a successful young writer in Los Angeles who is called back to his Native American background to tend to his ailing mother.

With the media blitz already in full effect for "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Spencer said working on something completely different is a way to escape. But there's no escaping the constant pleas for spoilers from the new flick. And like his character's quiet, shadow-like wolf form, he only gives a whisper of details.

"This time around, Sam has to put his ego aside to take on this new breed of vampires," Spencer said. "There's a lot of new relationships being formed."

The family that slays together, stays together.

At least that's the case for the Cullen brood.

In "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which hits theaters June 30, Seattle is ravaged by a series of killings caused by an army of newborn vampires controlled by revenge-seeking bloodsucker Victoria. To combat the threat against Bella ( Kristen Stewart) in this third installment of the franchise, the Cullens must band together and join forces with their sworn enemies, the wolf pack.

"The whole family is in a vulnerable position because of the love we have for Bella," said Elizabeth Reaser, who plays matriarch Esme Cullen. "If she's not OK, we're not OK."

In the past, we've seen the clan hit baseballs so hard that they can play only in a thunder storm, to block out the sound. And we've watched the buttoned-up human imposters welcome Bella into their home as the human girlfriend of one of their own — the handsome Edward.

"This time around, you get to see their true vampire-ness," said Peter Facinelli, who plays head vampire Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the series based on the bestselling books by Stephenie Meyer.

What can we expect from the pale-faced Cullen family (which includes the Hale siblings) this go around? Here's what the actors say audiences can expect from the story and their characters:

Facinelli: "For me, as Carlisle, it's an exciting portion of the series. Carlisle is very compassionate and he has a lot of killing to do in this movie. I joke, after he kills the bad guys, he says he's sorry in his head. And, you know, he's calm and level-headed. He's the rock of the family. He usually has a lot of information to draw from because Alice can see into the future and Edward can read minds. In this third movie, he's not getting that information. Neither one of his sources are working, so he's kind of flying blind."

Reaser: "Esme is still a vampire. She still wants to kill people all day long. It was interesting to get in touch with the vampire side of her in ways that haven't really been explored. Her family is in danger and that brings out the mama bear in her.

Ashley Greene (as Alice Cullen): "Yeah, she's delicate and prissy at times, but Alice gets a little edgier with each installment. And with these vampires messing with her family and the people she loves, you're going to see a bit of her toughness. It's a reminder to the audience that even though we restrain ourselves at times, we're still vampires and we're dangerous. You're going to see the dark, dangerous side of Alice."

Kellan Lutz (as Emmett Cullen): "You're going to see a smile on Emmett's face from start to finish. He just loves to fight. And there's a lot of fighting. He sort of plays bigger in this one than the others."

Jackson Rathbone (as Jasper Hale): "You'll get to see a little bit of the root of what makes Jasper so withdrawn and quiet in the Cullen family. Fans will get some of Jasper's back story in ‘Eclipse.' I got to wear the whole Civil War gear and everything. There's a bit of the softer and darker side of Jasper in this film."

Nikki Reed (as Rosalie Hale): "You see a reason for her attitude. I think fans will feel for her. There was a bit of that in ‘New Moon.' Fans got to see a bit of her sensitive side. Her sane side. Her logical side. And her desire to help her family. This time around, she is much more of a participant. She's a survivor. This is her family. So if protecting Bella means protecting her family, she's going to do it."

Robert Pattinson (as Edward Cullen): Snagging a phone interview with the brooding dreamboat — who was overseas shooting his latest film, "Bel Ami" — proved difficult. So what can we expect from the lovesick Edward? He promises to love Bella "every moment of forever," as the trailer reveals. He's still hesitant about her becoming a vampire. He's determined to protect her from Victoria. And he's vying with Jacob for her affections. Oh, the life of an antique teenage vampire.

Eclipse Movie Update: Edward Cullen Faces Jacob Black.

Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen is confronted by Taylor Lautner’s Jacob in this scene from David Slade’s upcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

"You have to consider the idea that I might be better for her than you are." The "her" here, of course, is Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan, who in order to become one with Edward will have to undergo, let’s say, a radical transformation.

Needless to say, Pattinson/Edward isn’t too happy about what Jacob has just told him, but at the same time it’s clear that he believes — at least to a certain extent — that what Jacob is saying has some truth to it.

This is a great shot because it shows how Pattinson acts with his eyes. It’s all there. The fear, the pain, the danger, and the hatred (would this be too strong a word?) for his rival.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse could well be the best movie in the series to date. I do hope Summit hasn’t "played it safe," thus allowing Slade and his actors — Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner, Bryce Dallas Howard, and the others — to give it all.

Edward and Bella kissing. That’s Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in the by now famous The Twilight Saga: Eclipse meadow scene. Directed by David Slade, best known for Hard Candy, Eclipse is supposed to be a darker, more action-filled installment in the Twilight franchise.

Even so, I believe it’s the meadow scene that most stands out in the teaser trailer. It’s beautifully shot, incredibly romantic, and at the same time profoundly sad. Even in the brightest of sunlights, there can be that "darkness" that envelop two people (or a person and a vampire) who share an "impossible" love. It’s that sort of "darkness" that I’m hoping to find in Eclipse.

I’m looking forward to the final, official Eclipse trailer to be shown on Oprah next Friday. (I’ll have my DVR ready.) I’m curious to see if Summit will emphasize action over romance so as to attract a larger fan base — or rather, non-fan base — to theaters. But no matter how many fight scenes are to be found in Eclipse, or how many times Taylor Lautner parades around shirtless, I’m quite sure it’s the meadow scene that is going to stay with me.

Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Kristen Stewart had a far easy time filming `Twilight:Eclipse` as she found her character Bella evolving and did not feel tortured on the sets.

The American actress after slipping back into the character of Bella Swan in the third movie of the hit franchise felt the vampire-loving teen had a new sense of purpose, that made the character much easier to play, a magazine reported.

"I wasn`t as tortured as I was on `New Moon.` Bella really knows what she wants in `Eclipse.` She`s not just a dumb kid talking because she`s in love," Stewart said.

However, the 20-year-old star found it difficult getting intimate in a scene with Taylor Lautner`s werewolf character Jacob, because she sees him as something of a younger brother and she understands that Bella truly loves Edward Cullen portrayed by Robert Pattinson.

"It felt really weird kissing someone else as Bella. I was like, `What the hell are you doing?`. It was a really strange experience ? as it should have been," Stewart said.

The Kristen Stewart interview ran in Entertainment Weekly, in which the Twilight talked about the subtleties of change in her character from movie to movie in The Twilight Saga films.

Stewart said to EW regarding the upcoming Eclipse:

'I wasn't as tortured as I was on New Moon."Bella really knows what she wants in Eclipse. She's not just a dumb kid talking because she's in love.'

She told the entertainment publication how strange she felt kissing her friend, Taylor Lautner, as she played Bella.

Stewart told EW:

Seeing this strange experience will make it clear what Kristen Stewart is talking about. Meanwhile, we have a little time to wait for Eclipse to come out on in the theaters across the country on June 30.

Kristen Stewart had an 11-month break between finishing the shoot for "Twilight" in April 2008 and beginning "New Moon" last year. Production on "Eclipse" (opening June 30), though, kicked off just seven weeks after the conclusion of "New Moon." And when KStew returned to slip back into the character of Bella Swan, she found the vampire-loving teen had a new sense of purpose.

It was that resolve, Stewart reveals in Entertainment Weekly's summer movie preview issue, that made the character much easier to play. "I wasn't as tortured as I was on 'New Moon.' Bella really knows what she wants in 'Eclipse.' She's not just a dumb kid talking because she's in love."

That's not to suggest that playing a more-focused Bella was a breeze. Though the teen matures over the course of the story, graduating from high school and getting engaged to Robert Pattinson's Edward, at one point she is pulled back into the romantic embrace of Taylor Lautner's werewolf Jacob. That scene was difficult, both because Stewart sees Lautner as something of a younger brother and because she understands that Bella truly loves Edward.

"It felt really weird kissing someone else as Bella. I was like, 'What the hell are you doing?' " she said. "It was a really strange experience — as it should have been."

And then there's an experience that fans have been looking forward to for years — one not strange at all but rather a long time coming: Edward and Bella's engagement. Producer Wyck Godfrey said the scene will more than fulfill expectations. "She walks into Edward's room, and there's a beautiful four-poster bed, and it's like, 'Wow, here we go!' "

The movies are based off of the books by Stephanie Meyer and the 3rd book 'Eclipse' will be in theaters on June 30th, 2010. Many fans are already planning 'Twilight' event parties for the night of the premiere and more details will be provided on those parties as it comes available. It seems as if there will be premiere parties in Fort Meyers and Sarasota.

He talks about how we’ll get to see him bring out the darkest side of Jasper when they show a scene about his back story.

In a recent interview with the NY Post he talked about what its like playing Jasper Hale. He stated, “The thing I like about Jasper’s arc is that it’s very developed — you don’t know much about him in the first film. He’s always in pain but don’t know why, until the second film, when you realize that he’s the newest to the family and he’s basically dying of hunger. It’s very difficult to live that vampryic lifestyle. So he’s having trouble adjusting. Next, he revealed that he’ll be bringing out Jasper’s darkest side in Eclipse. He said, “Yeah. We do a little segue/backstory in “Eclipse”,when he was turned during the Civil War. We get to see his more aggressive tendencies. When you’re first turned into a vampire, that’s when you’re at your most ravenous, most vicious – so you see Jasper go through that. It was a lot of fun to bring out the darker side of Jasper that he’s been holding back.”

"So then when I heard they were gonna do the second one I was like, OK, I wanna get in early enough this time, so at least I get a chance to audition for it," he recalls. "And luckily I got that chance, that opportunity, and it's been great ever since."

Meraz has now made his mark as a member of the supernatural Wolf Pack. He wasn't prepared for the overwhelming adulation of stardom, however.

"It's kind of odd a lot of times because I forget – I really, truly forget sometimes – how big this franchise is," he says.

"Like, I'll go out to get something to eat, and then people call my name, and then I'm thinking, 'Oh, do I know them?' It's a weird thing to try to understand. Y'know, I'm just Alex, I'm nobody different than you.

"And it was something that (fellow Twilight star) Kristen Stewart warned me about when I was working on New Moon. She just said, 'Don't try to understand it, just accept it for what it is'. It was definitely good advice."

Meraz will appear in the next Twilight instalment, Eclipse, later this year, but is yet to hear of plans for the follow-up, Breaking Dawn.

And he now finally gets to go to fan conventions, but he's on the inside looking out.

"I was a huge comic book/toy nerd, so I always wanted to go to different conventions, see comic books or see different actors that I'd seen in movies, but I never had the opportunity to," he says.

"So now that I'm a part of it . . . it's hard, because I wanna go to the different booths, the different vendors, I wanna see all the different stuff that a convention has. Maybe I should dress up like a Stormtrooper or something!"

Right now you want to be Jackson Rathbone. The actor is on a serious, serious roll. He plays Jasper Hale in the blockbuster Twilight series and has The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on the way later this year. He co-stars in the much-anticipated fantasy-adventure The Last Airbender (2010), due out this summer, in Girlfriend (2010), an indie drama he also co-produced, and in a very creepy little horror film called Dread (2010), just released on DVD from Lionsgate. Based on a Clive Barker short story, the film casts Rathbone as Stephen, a college student who partners up with Cheryl (Laura Donnelly) and Quaid (Shaun Evans) on a project that chronicles people's greatest fears. However, Quaid pushes matters to the extreme, forcing Stephen and Cheryl to confront their own fears far more personally and viscerally than they ever imagined. Dread was the main topic of discussion, but the amiable Rathbone talked about some other subjects of interest as well.

Let's start with Dread. Had you read the Barker short story on which the film is based?

I read the short story when I first got hooked up with the script because I wanted to see what the adaptation was from. I read the script and then the short story, and I was amazed at what (writer-director) Anthony DiBlasi was able to pull out and what he was able to create from the short story. Obviously, certain things have changed, but he kept the heart of it and expanded on it.

What did you like about your character, Stephen?

I've always loved characters that have a lot of development and grow over the course of however long the story is. It's about a month in this, and he really gets to go from being this shy pariah to being more outgoing and to going out to nightclubs with Quaid and to discovering more about himself through other people's dreads and fears. And he fully realizes his own fears and dreads through Quaid's demented personality.

The film does a nice job of delivering a plot that makes you think as well as giving us chills, gross-out moments, and characters to care about. What did you make of the mix of elements?

I think what Anthony did, from adapting it to filming it to cutting it together in the editing room, was to create this film that's more of a psychological thriller than a horror film. It does have those horrific elements to it, but at the end of the day it's more of a person-to-person drama. And it's beautiful to be a part of that. This is a horror story that could happen. It's the horrors of day-to-day life, of the dark sides of our own psyches.

A lot of people are very excited about The Last Airbender. How did that shoot go?

We shot for two weeks in Greenland, which was freezing -- freezing -- but beautiful. You really can't fake that. I did a month and a half of kung fu training in Los Angeles. And then I flew out to Philadelphia for another half a month of training, rehearsals, fittings and tests and everything. We were actually in Greenland for our first two weeks of shooting, then flew back to Philly for the rest of the film. It was a great experience.

Probably even more people are excited about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. What will we see of Jasper in the next film?

We get to see a lot of his back story, which is what I'm really excited about putting out there. It's back in the Civil War era. You see him turned into a vampire. Back when he was a human he was in the Civil War and he runs across these vampires -- three beautiful women vampires -- in the desert, and they turn him. And he becomes a warrior who trains these vampire armies. We see a lot of that and see a lot of Jasper's back story, which is really cool because in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon you could kind of see that he's still dealing with this new way of life, especially now that his adoptive brother (Robert Pattinson) is dating a human (Kristen Stewart). And in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse you get to see why.

You seem so busy with the acting right now. You've produced Girlfriend and are trying to get that on the festival circuit in order to find a distributor. How concerned do you get about leaving enough time to devote to your band, 100 Monkeys?

It all depends on how many hours of sleep you want to get a night (laughs). When we did Eclipse I was filming it in Vancouver and flying to Boston on my off days to shoot Girlfriend, as well as mixing my band's album and recording vocals for it. So I was doing three or four different things at once. It was two months of doing that. It was difficult, but at the end of the day you just sleep a little less and drink a lot more coffee.

The red carpet event will be held on June 24, 2010 and you know that all the major players will be in attendance. GossipCop has learned that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will hold their grand red carpet event on June 24, 2010. The sites states, "A rep for Summit confirmed the date but said the location has not yet been finalized, although reps for two of the movie’s stars told GossipCop Grauman’s was 'the plan.'" Twilight Saga Teaches Teenagers About Healthy Relationships.

Fans are rabid for the Twilight series. The books are best sellers and the Twilight sequel New Moon broke records at the box office last year. Wednesday, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland used the vampire romance as a teaching tool for teenagers.

"It's a love story that pretty much any teenage girl would want," says 16-year-old Nikki Good who has read all four books and seen both movies. The high school junior got hooked on the love story between Bella and Edward. "She's just your typical teenage girl and he's the guy that every girl dreams of. I'm a huge fan," she says.

"Fantasy and reality kinda mix a little bit, but a lot of the things that happen in the books could happen in real life and do happen," says health educator Jenn Morton. More than 30 teachers, social workers and other who work with youth discussed the series adult themes like identifying healthy and unhealthy relationships. "Really it's about adults being able to talk to those kids about those things and then impress their own values," says Morton.

Planned Parenthood of the Heartland will hold another training session just for parents. It is scheduled for June before the release of Eclipse, the latest movie in the series. For more information, call the Education and Resource Center at 1-800-874-2525.

Laremy Legel: When I talked to you for Twilight you were just dipping your toes into the fandom, and what it was all about. Do you check fan sites these days?

Melissa Rosenberg: I stay off the Internet, because I'm very sensitive to commentary. There could be 10 comments of "Fabulous job!" and one "She's horrible!" and it completely throws me. When you're writing you're constantly fighting demons to sit down and do what you do. If you listen to the voices outside your head, in addition to the ones inside your head, you'll never get anything done. There's enough inner strife.

I do, however, maintain a fan site, where people are mostly kind. It's interesting reading their comments, because they talk about what's important to them, what things really register, what things I need to capture. So I do rely on that.
Melissa Rosenberg is a busy woman. In the past few years she's adapted three parts of The Twilight Saga for the screen, all the while writing and producing for the hit Showtime series Dexter. How does she balance her life and work? What can we expect from Breaking Dawn? And what's the difference between the three directors she's worked with on Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse? All those answers and more in our exclusive interview.

LL: I think your writing has amazing range; from Dexter to Twilight is a pretty big distance. But do you worry about being locked into a particular genre? Do screenwriters get typecast? Or does that not happen?

MR: Oh, it happens all the time. You become the "teen voice" writer. Studios, because they are investing a great deal of money in movies, they want a guarantee that when they hire somebody that person can deliver for them. Everything is fear based, so they pigeonhole people. But I've written everything, from Westerns to sci-fi to dramedy, I've done it all. I have my strengths and my weaknesses, and the things I prefer not to do, but like most writers I can do, and like to do, a variety of things.

I'm sure I'll be offered all sorts of romantic teen dramas as I move forward, because I've now written plenty of them, and I won't be doing that again. It's not of interest me. I do lean more towards doing different kinds of things.

Even though The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is nearly three months away from its theatrical release, the Twilight series cast has been out and about in full force doing interviews and appearances.

At the Yotam Solomon’s Fashion Event this weekend, Young Hollywood caught up with New Moon and Eclipse star Nikki Reed ("Rosalie Hale" in the series) and asked her a few questions about her style choices for the evening.
Reed also talked about her current interests, which include traveling and learning the Greek and Spanish languages.

About The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and what fans can expect to see from her character, Reed explained that the film "really explore[s] my character's back story . . . so there's a lot of stuff from the early 1900's, the 1930's."
When speaking of the Twilight saga cast ensemble and how they're gearing up for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Reed stated that they are "all sort of like a family. You know, we started this thing together, and we're going to finish together . . . We love each other, we see one another when we're not shooting. So, we're looking forward to going back to Vancouver to make another one."
While Nikki Reed might not have known for sure whether the filming location for Breaking Dawn would be Vancouver or Portland, it seems that she thinks it'll be Vancouver.

Eclipse Will Bring Back The Blue Hue.

Months ago, we had a great discussion about the possibility that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse's hue might be a little more gray than the prior films.

The idea that the film would be primarily grayish or reddish in color then stemmed from a look at some of David Slade's prior work - particularly Hard Candy and 30 Days Of Night. That and the fact that The Twilight Saga: New Moon's gold tones began a new trend of mixed color schemes for these varying films. Later, when the title art and first movie poster for the film were revealed, the use of gray became undoubtable.

Recently, a few new stills from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse were unveiled by studio Summit Entertainment, and of them one stands out to some readers of this column.
Yesterday, when the cover art for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion was revealed, a commenter named "Kris" shared her thoughts on the issue in very true and readable form.
"Anyone notice the deep-color theme in this flick--the blues and aquas, especially in the book cover and that pic. of the Cullens. They look like they all shopped in a denim store before the big battle!"

Indeed the photo of the Cullens does have a bit of that reminiscent Twilight blue hue.
Of course, there are some obvious improvements in wardrobing, stances, backdrops, and hairstyles to speak of since this photo from 2008's Twilight, but take a look at the similarities between these two photos(above and below).

Bryce Dallas Howard, the star of Manderlay and The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, replaced Rachelle Lefevre in the role of Victoria last year. According to reports, Lefevre left the franchise because of "scheduling conflicts."

Victoria, a role originally offered to Howard in the first Twilight movie, is the vindictive vampire out to get Kristen Stewart’s Bella. That’s because Victoria blames Robert Pattinson’s Edward for the death of her boyfriend. A neck for a neck, as the old saying goes.

"We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise," remarked Summit Entertainment’s Erik Feig at the time Howard joined the Twilight Saga troupe.
"Rachelle brought Victoria to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role."

According to Melissa Rosenberg, Howard initially declined the role because she felt it was too small. It’s been beefed up quite a bit since.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade has been sporadically updating his post-production progress on the rapidly approaching film via Twitter.
His latest updates revolve around the editing process in which he is "cutting like crazy." Just prior to that he confirmed a first director's cut was completed and screened to the studio for the first time.

Echoing the approach Chris Weitz took on New Moon, Slade also tweeted that he is adding more Edward Cullen aka Robert Pattinson. The girls love the guy so the more of him in the film will lead to more cash in Summit's coffers.

We are now less than 6 months away from Eclipse's release and not a second of footage has been released. In fact, only one official image is available along with a handful of on-location spy snaps.

So when is the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse going to be released?

The first instinct is to predict it appearing in front of Valentine's Day this weekend which includes a small role for Taylor Lautner. But that is a Warner Bros. film and Summit has shown with the first two Twilight films that they prefer trailer debuts in front of their own.

That leaves the limited release Roman Polanski thriller The Ghost Writer on February 19 which veers about as far from Twilight's fan base as possible. I put the odds at zero for that happening.

The more probable date for the first Eclipse trailer debut is on March 12 in front of Summit's Remember Me. That film happens to star Robert Pattinson (along with Lost's Emilie de Ravin) which next to Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner is as perfect a tie-in as possible.

Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer gave the strongest hint yet that she may return to the best-selling series! Meyer hinted to Entertainment Weekly that the vampire romance series isn’t dead and buried, and that there may be more in the pipeline.

Stephenie Meyer abandoned the series after a rough draft of Midnight Sun, a companion novel to the Twilight Saga was leaked online. Midnight Sun was a retelling of the Twilight novel but from the perspective of Edward Cullen rather than Bella Swan. After the leak Meyer chose to focus on non-Twilight related work but it appears Meyer hasn’t turned her back on the series after all. Stephenie told Entertainment Weekly:
I’m not working on anything new Twilight-related now, and probably not for a while. But there’s still a possibility that I’ll go back and close some of the open doors.
There is new graphic novel adaptation of Twilight coming soon. Yen Press are set to publish a manga style version of the series, with Volume one being given a first print of 350,000. The original novel has been translated by Young Kim with input from Meyer.

Peter Facinelli recently gave an interview to “Entertainment Tonight” and gave a few more details on his character Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the upcoming “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” movie,which is the third installment in the “Twilight Saga” movie series. He also talked a little bit about his other Dr. Fitch Cooper character on Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie.”

Peter said were’re going to see Dr. Carlisle Cullen in a new light when ‘Eclipse” rolls around. He stated, “You get to see a side of Carlisle you haven’t seen before. There are some great battle sequences.” he also said that he didn’t know anything about “Breaking Dawn,” which will be the Twilight Saga’s 4th installment. He said, “I don’t know. Usually, the fans know before we do.” He expressed how great the “Twilight Saga” fans are. He stated, “The fan base has been so phenomenal. When you go to an event, people have flown in from other countries just to take a picture with you. That is a loyal fan base that you can’t even imagine having. I am thankful for all of them. That is why I try to give back in connecting with them on Twitter.”

Next, Peter explained how he was able to juggle filming the “Nurse Jackie” show and “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” at the same time. He said, “I have had a very crazy schedule. There was a whole month where I was shooting ‘Eclipse’ and “Nurse Jackie” at the same time. And I actually enjoyed it because I enjoy what I do, so when I show up for work, it’s very invigorating, and I get energized by it. So there were times where I’d get off an airplane from a red-eye and have, like, three hours sleep and then go straight to work. Because I was doing both projects at the same time, I wore a wig. There were days when I was literally running hours in the forest; then, I would jump on a plane and be on the “Nurse Jackie” set. I was going from Vancouver to New York like every three days.”

Producers are looking to make “Eclipse” more accessible to male audiences as well, as opposed to “Twilight” which was the very definition of a chick flick, and this means cutting down on love scenes and putting more emphasis on fight sequences.

As fans must surely know by now, if there’s one thing that “Eclipse” doesn’t come short of, that’s fight scenes. “It’s more about the fight scenes. They’re awesome; it’s what it’s all about. No, it’s even more action than ‘New Moon,’ that’s where the tension is between them all,” the unnamed but reportedly very reliable source spills for Casablanca. For love scenes, fans will just have to wait until “Breaking Down,” which will undoubtedly be “hotter” and “more romantic” in terms of presentation of the love story between Edward and Bella, the spy goes on to say.

While this may surprise many, it’s no secret that Summit is making “Eclipse” into an action movie, as star Ashley Greene also revealed in an interview dating a few months back. The franchise needs to widen its appeal with the public and since the story allows for more action scenes to be inserted, why not go for it, Greene too was saying. Female fans will still watch the film no matter what, so it was worth a shot attracting male viewers with more fighting.

“I think it’ll be different. With 'New Moon' being panned by critics, makers of the third 'Twilight' saga film are trying to maintain an interesting balance between action sequences and the love triangle in 'Eclipse'.

Director of the third film David Slade has claimed in his Twitter updates that the focus of the film is still the love Triangle between the three characters Edward Cullen, Bella Swan, and Jacob Black, which is matched with action sequences, Aceshowbiz online reported.

"Edward seems to be a really strong presence, the intensity of the love story and rivalry between Jacob is in the driving seat," said Slade tweeted on Friday.

The character of Edward is played by British actor Robert Pattinson, who is rumoured to be dating co-star Kristen Stewart in real life.

"Jacob & Bella are matching with intensity and it's all even with the action sequences. Right now we are in a great state of balance," Slade further added.
Beside explaining the focus of 'Eclipse', the helmer also shared about the progress of the movie, mentioning that the post-production team was working on reviewing the wolves and they are "looking better & better."

Fact #1: It's Darker

With 30 Days of Night director David Slade at the helm, it's unsurprising. "Every movie is different because we work with a different director on each one, which I love," Taylor Lautner tells RT. "David Slade is perfect for the third film because it's darker. Eclipse was my favourite book."

Ashley Greene, who plays vampire Alice, tells RT that Slade isn't just a prince of darkness. "David is actually hysterical," she laughs, "He has such a dry sense of humour that sometimes you don't know if he's kidding or not. Eclipse will be amazing because he has made it far edgier and more dramatic. It's going to look very cool."

Fact #2: There Will Be Less "Love Story" and More "War"

"Eclipse isn't as intimate as Twilight or New Moon," Robert Pattinson explains to us. "We're at war, so I get to interact with more characters, not just Kristen. You'll also find out more about the other members of the Cullen family. It just feels bigger." But -- fear not, Twihards -- that isn't to say the love story is cast aside altogether. "New Moon set up a love triangle with Bella, Edward and Jacob," says Lautner. "So we explore that further in Eclipse. It's a tough situation for all of them because Bella is torn between two guys, Jacob can't get the girl that he loves and then there's Edward, with all of his issues."

Fact #3: The Werewolves Will Crank Up the Sex Appeal

"We all know the appeal of the vampire family," says Nikki Reed, who plays vampire Rosalie. "But the werewolf boys are on a whole different level. They interact with a youthful, playful, comfortable warmth. It's very sexy."

As for Pattinson, he admits that his personal jealousy about Taylor Lautner's newly-ripped physique actually comes in handy for the role. "In Eclipse, Taylor and I have lots of scenes together where we have to be jealous and petty with each other," he says. "So it helps that I actually do feel inadequate when I see his body, especially because he's younger than me. He fulfills every criteria of what teenage girls want, physically, in a guy. I felt like a had to prove myself against him."

Fact #4: There's More Action

"Filming Eclipse actually changed my life," says Nikki Reed of the arduous training regime the cast had to endure. "I have never been so fit -- this is the first time in my life I have actually had a bicep. It's bizarre to compare how we look now to how we all looked in the first movie. The entire cast turned up on set for Eclipse looking super-buff."

New cast member Bryce Dallas Howard tried to play a prank on the crew during one stunt, but she didn't count on Pattinson's awkwardness. "We had a fight scene where Bryce had to grab my hair," he laughs. "So she took a clump of hair from my stunt double's wig and was going to pretend she had pulled it from my head. She told me to scream and storm off set, but it was so embarrassing. She had this huge clump of hair in her hand, and I was like 'oww,' really unconvincingly."

While the rest of the cast were having fun with stunts, spare a thought for poor Taylor Lautner. "Eclipse is a lot more physical for my character," he explains, "but any time I have any kind of action, I'm a wolf, so it's all done with CGI. It's a bummer."

Fact #5: The Ending Will Be Nicely Set Up For a Fourth - And Perhaps Fifth - Film

There are four books in The Twilight Saga: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. But Ashley Greene gave RT the strongest indication yet that there might be five films. "We have finished filming Eclipse and one would assume that, if New Moon does as well as Twilight, then we'll start filming Breaking Dawn next year," she says.

"The only thing is, Breaking Dawn is a very large book so it would be a really long movie. We're thinking they might decide to split it into two parts, like they did with Harry Potter. Either way, we need to get on with shooting them because, unlike Harry Potter, vampires don't age. So we all need to look the same!"
